When the hot days of summer arrive here in Florida, it is time to pull out your favorite pair of flip flops…or is it? Although flip flops frequently represent the onset of summer, according to the American Podiatric Medical Association, this type of footwear is not appropriate for everyday use (they can cause serious heel pain): Instead, the association recommends the use of flip flops be limited to the pool, beach, and spa as well as in shared showers, and hotel rooms.
